Andrew Mudd - Men's Track and Field
Saginaw Valley State senior track and field member, Andrew Mudd (Auburn, Mich.// Bay City Western HS) took home first place in the decathlon at the Cerritos Invitational and Combined Events in California, this past weekend. He finished first in the 100m dash, 1500m run and the pole vaulting events, totaling 7118 points to end the day. Mudd is currently ranked fourth in the NCAA, first in the GLIAC, for the decathlon competition.
Sabrina Coffman - Women's Golf
Sabrina Coffman led the Cardinals with a low round score of 80 to finish in a tie for 20th place overall at the 2018 Ashland University Invitational this past weekend. Saginaw Valley posted a score of 324, finishing a single stroke behind Wittenberg University.
On Tuesday (Apr. 10) at the 2018 NC4K Classic, hosted by Ohio Dominican University, Coffman followed-up her opening day 73 with an 81, ending with a top-10 finished tied for 10th after her 154 (+10).
The team will return to action this upcoming weekend at the 2018 GLIAC Championships. The event will take place Apr. 20-22 at The Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
